By the River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept
Author: Paulo Coehlo

Someone was throwing this book out at a guesthouse in Vashisht, Himachal Pradesh. Fifty pages into the book, I understood why.

This author's books are everywhere in India. On a streetcorner you will see all of his books lined up. This book was pedantic and plodding. In it the male character expounds his mystical Gaian Catholicism, while the female tries to figure out if she's in love with him.

The pirated copy repeated twenty pages at about page 60 and missed twenty pages after that. It didn't matter. Oh God, female or male, this guy is making millions? God, have you no sense of justice?
