Canon Elph Powershot 400
I am carrying a Canon Elph Powershot SD400. This is a great, small, fast compact digital camera. It has a different name in Europe. It is a 5 Megabyte camera and can also take short video clips. I only carry this camera. I decided against getting a digital SLR camera. My philosophy for taking photos has been: don't try too hard; take as many photos as I wish of anything that interests me or looks new or different; don't try too hard for the postcard photographs. Of course a more professional camera would take more stunning photographs with greater depth of field and so on. But I have been pleased with the quality of photos I can take with the Powershot. I have been using the stitch functionality which allows me to create panoramic photos. The camera can be fully automatic if I wish, but I use it on the manual mode, which allows me to change most of the settings; for example I can change the light meter, change the ISO speed, or set a long exposure for night shots. When I turn it on it is ready in an instant, which is great because things happen fast. I always have it on me in a hip pack.
