Edward Hasbrouck analyzes The Amazing Race

Edward Hasbrouck does a weekly analysis of each Amazing Race episode. He works for AirTreks.com, a company that sets up round-the-world air travel by customizing a route for you using consolidator tickets. He also has done many round-the-world trips, writes about privacy rights for travellers, and writes about the situation in Kashmir.

His analysis compares the exploits of the Amazing Race participants with what is possible for real travellers, including commentary on air travel and the places the participants are visiting.

I looked into buying round-the-world tickets before I left. In the end I decided I did not want to get tied down to any itinerary. I also suspected I would not be travelling much by air in order to stay in places longer and to save on expenses. But if you knew you wanted to cover a lot of ground and there were several regions of the world you knew you wanted to go to, an AirTreks package could be a good way to go.

He covers strategy for buying airline tickets, along with other world travel advice, on his website and also in his comprehensive book, The Practical Nomad (also at Amazon).
