My faith in antibiotics is partially restored

Day number four, my temperature dropped some and I felt a little better. Day number five, today, I felt nearly normal, and my temperature was low. I guess my faith in antibiotics is restored. It always feels so good just to feel good. I'll leave the issue of whether I was taken for a ride by my doctors in Madurai. No use dwelling on the past. I gave myself the same antibiotics I was given in the hospital, Augmentin (co-amoxycillin) and Clarythromycin. Either is used for chest infections. I am not a doctor; I do not recommend this treatment; and I made this judgement at my own risk. However, I did judge based on what I was given at the hospital, what I read in Lonely Planet's Healthy Travel in Asia, and the U.S. government's Nation Institute of Health drug database. I did not want to deal with a doctor here when I could try the antibiotics first. It took four days to start improving; I expected two days; in the hospital I started improving immediately. At the beginning of the fourth day I thought they weren't working and did not know what I would do next.
